The weigh-in event for the Advanced Competition is approaching quickly! It’s important to fully read this post so that you understand exactly what is expected of you for this event.
The purpose of the weigh-in is to allow the Sumobot organizers ensure that your robot is fit to compete in the Advanced Competition. This means that your robot should be fully built but the programming does not have to be complete. This allows the organizers to schedule for only functional robots at the competition.
This event is designed to allow all non-competing members and judges to walk around and ask questions about teams’ robots (much like an expo, such as Clubsfest). We are inviting professors from CAS and BTech to come judge so please come prepared to present your design and build decisions. You’re encouraged to prepare presentation material (such as bristol board/posters) to assist in this part of the event. Business casual is recommended.
If you have any questions about the weigh-in event, feel free to email us at email@example.com.
Thanks, and good luck!
P.S. A quick and fun aesthetic challenge will be run at the end where everyone will vote for the most interesting/unique looking robot!
